Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Full case documentation and autopsy report for Steven Ellison (DOB 6/22/82) who died in policy custody on December 28, 2006. This should include, but not be limited to; police response report, CAD data from 911 call, autopsy report, witness statements, etc.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

This correspondence is in response to your request for public records.
Specifically you have requested a copy of records pertaining to the
investigation of the death of Steven Ellison on December 28, 2006. Your
request will be processed in accordance with the Maryland Public
Information Act (MPIA), Annotated Code of Maryland, General Provisions
Article ยง 4-101, et seq. (MPIA).

Upon search, the police case number related to the record you seek is
06-755239. This case is currently in archive storage. In order to proceed
with your request, please remit $35.00 ($35/box) payable to Anne Arundel
County for applicable retrieval and refile fees. Once payment is made and
the record is obtained from storage, it will be evaluated for release in
accordance with the MPIA. As responsive records have not been reviewed
individually due to location, I do not yet know whether all of the
responsive records are subject to disclosure or if redactions will be
required, but, if any are to be withheld, the response will explain the
reason for that. I will also provide an estimate of copy/production fees at
that time.
