Hi, thanks for this response. To clarify, my request is not for records that are contained within personnel files or records of investigations. I’m requesting aggregate statistics showing the number of times the police department used force and the types of force used, as well as a separate request for the aggregate totals of complaints received and number sustained. This information is not subject to the limits on disclosure of personnel files, nor is it impacted by SB1421. Its simply a request for aggregate, non-identifiable statistics on a subject of considerable public interest. I’ve made this request to dozens of police agencies in California and they’ve honored this request.
Thank you,
Sam

Hi, thanks for sending this information. Unfortunately, this is not in the correct format. The data here combines all use of force incidents from 2014-2018. My request specified that I need this data separated by year. So it should be a response similar to this, but with the number and type of incidents separated for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Thanks!
Sam
