Pursuant to the Alaska Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
-All current policies regarding how officers are expected to handle protests
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Ms. Russell,
I apologize for the delay in responding to your request, and appreciate the follow up inquiry. You requested " All current policies regarding how officers are expected to handle protests".
Generally speaking, the Alaska State Troopers are not called upon for any special duties related to protests, given the rural law enforcement is our core mission. Municipal agencies in areas were protests and other demonstrations have permitting requirements may have the policies you are looking for. A routine protest in one of our service areas would not necessarily require Trooper involvement to direct traffic, for example, as may happen in an urban area.
We do have a policy on Riot and Unlawful Assembly, which I have attached.
