From: Alaska Information and Analysis Center

Good morning Mr. Waltman,

I write in response to your request for public information submitted on December 4, 2017 to the Alaska Information Analysis Center (AKIAC) . I apologize for the delayed response—the Alaska Department of Public Safety (DPS) has switched to an on-line submission process, which tracks public information requests and ensures they are assigned to the appropriate staff. Your request was submitted directly to a staff member, rather than through our public information request system, and was unfortunately overlooked. We make every effort to respond to any request promptly, regardless of the manner of submission--- but submission of any future requests you may have through our on line system would be appreciated.

Here is a link to more information about requesting public information from the Alaska DPS:

https://dps.alaska.gov/AST/PIO/PublicInformationRequest/

Regarding you request for :

Threat assessments, field reports, and intelligence updates, which have focused on the following groups: -National Socialist Movement -Antifa -Vanguard America -the Ku Klux Klan -Traditionalist Worker Party -Identity Evropa -Oath Keepers -III Percenters -Proud Boys -Aryan Brotherhood of Texas An email search using the following keywords "Antifa" "Proud Boys" "White Supremacist" "White Nationalist" "Anarchist" "Occidental Dissent" "Stormfront" "Vanguard America" "Identity Evropa" "Ku Klu Klan" "National Socialist Movement" "Aryan Brotherhood of Texas" "Oath Keepers" "III Percenters"

Unlike other ‘Fusion Centers’, the AKIAC does not produce Threat Assessments, Field Reports, or Intelligence Updates on groups such as these. AKIAC does produce specific Law Enforcement threat alerts on individuals engaging in criminal activity or threatening specific violent action against citizens. Those are not releasable under Alaska law as they are specific to active criminal investigations ( see AS 40.25.120 (a)(6)(A)).

Because we do not have documents responsive to your request, I am attaching the appeal process to follow if you believe my determination was in error. If you would like to refine your request or provide additional information, please feel free to contact me directly.

Sincerely,
Allison
