Pursuant to the Alaska Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
- All complaints or reports of suspected violations regarding cruise ships sent to the department between Jan. 1, 2017 and June 4, 2019.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Good morning,
The cruise ship program is reviewing the records request. Attached is a non litigation form needed for the request. I wanted to check if you could clarify what records were requested. Is this regarding Ocean Rangers, wastewater, air emissions, or all of those? Did you need all the files or summaries? I attached an example of a monthly summary of Ocean Ranger reports and reported items. We have 5,700 files and emails for Ocean Ranger reported items for 2017 and 2018, it would take a substantial amount of time to compile and review those but the monthly summaries are meant to be a short report on what happened, who was notified, and the conclusion. The program does not have summaries like these for wastewater or air, we have at least one thousand files and emails for each of those. We could provide lists of items. The program would also need to withhold items currently still open, this includes almost all of 2019 and some cases from 2018 and 2017. There would likely be a fee and a substantial amount of time depending on the extent of the request. Please let me know what types of information you are looking for.
