Pursuant to the Alabama Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
An itemized list of all reimbursed expenses for the Executive Director, Division Director of Accounting, and Division Director of Education from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022.
Cell phone records for the Executive Director, Division Director of Accounting, and Division Director of Education from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you for starting to complete our form on your other request. However, we will need you to fully fill out the 1-page form provided including the section titled “specific documents requested” and “purpose for which information is requested” on both requests. We will need specific items, date ranges, search terms, etc. and then the purpose related to each. This will ensure governmental efficiency in acquiring and reproducing documents and may reduce the cost to the requestor. Please include proof of Alabama residency as well as the open records act applies only to Alabama citizens. Acceptable forms of proof include a valid Alabama driver’s license, a photo ID license, or any other state or city government issues photo ID that includes your address. Please make sure to completely fill out the form on your other request to ensure efficient response by the commission for that request as well. Thank you for your assistance.

In your form you requested “An itemized list of all reimbursed expenses for the Executive Director, Division Director of Accounting, and Division Director of Education from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022.” This information can be found on open.alabama.gov. The information listed on the website are the itemized items you are requesting. For example, it may say “lodging – actual expenses,” “meals-actual expenses,” or “mileage”. Those are the break downs of how much was spent on each item based on the amounts allowed by the state for actual reimbursement or on a per diem type basis as is done with meals. There would not be an itemized list for instate travel because you aren’t reimbursed per item, it is on a per diem basis. If there is more information you need, but cannot find on that website, then potentially the Alabama Department of Finance Comptroller’s Office may be able to help you further.
