Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
All documents pertaining to the your agency's contract with Veritone (https://www.veritone.com). These documents might include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Initial Bid Documents
- Current and previous contracts with Veritone regarding any of the offerings/software
- Requests for Proposals
- Memorandum(s) of Understanding
- Any privacy impact assessments
- Any product manuals
- Any instructional materials or presentations
- Use policies and standard operating procedures
- Data retention policies
- Letters of Interest
- Usage policies
- Any informal agreements or other documents that reference "Veritone" or otherwise guide it use or the relationship between this agency and the provider or developer of the software.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

On December 20, 2023 the Orange Police Department received your request through USPS for the contract with Veritone including documents involving bids, current or previous contacts, proposal, memorandum of Understanding, privacy impact assessments, product manuals, instructional materials, policy and standards, data retention policies, letters of interest and usage policies, and informal agreements or other documents that reference “Veritone” and the agency and the provider or developer of the software.
Pursuant to California Government Code 7922.535(c)(1) and 7922.535(c)(2), a 14-day extension is required to determine whether the request, in whole or in part, seeks disclosable records. As noted above, your request was received on December 20, 2023. Accordingly you may expect a response from this office no later than January 8, 2024.

The Orange Police Department has received your public records request regarding the OPD Contract with Veritone. The record is available for release.
There are fees associated with the request, as outlined below:
* $0.15 cents per page, totaling $3.90 for the complete file.
* $25 fee for media
Before we can proceed with processing your request, we will need to collect payment for the requested items.
You may submit a cashier’s check, business check, or money order via USPS. It must be made payable to the City of Orange for a total of $3.90. When you mail in your envelope, you may address it to me.
Additionally, if you choose to visit in person our hours of operation are currently Monday – Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. You can pay with cash, cashier’s check, business check, money order, or Visa / Mastercard credit at our front counter.
Please let me know what form of payment you will be submitting. Should you have any further questions or require clarification, please feel free to contact me.
