To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:

Any email communication between the Mayor's Office of the City of New York and NBC Universal or the MPAA concerning the funding, creation, licensing, staffing or royalties for the videos created for the "Stop Piracy in NYC" campaign launched in December, 2010 at: http://stoppiracyinnyc.com/

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by the news blog Techdirt.com and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

The FOIL request regarding communication between the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, NBC Universal or the MPAA about the "Stop Piracy in NYC" campaign was received by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment's records access officer on Monday, June 13, 2011. This request is currently under review, and you can expect a response within twenty business days.
