From: Michael Morisy

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the state Freedom of Information Act, G.L.M. c.4, €7, clause 26th, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of the most recent contract between the Executive Office of Economic Development and MassBusiness and the last three evaluations of MassBusiness conducted by the Executive Office of Economic Development.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Michael Morisy

Michael:

This is to confirm that I did receive your request this morning. I have no email record that I received the original request from you on January 20th. If you emailed it, the original email would be helpful; if you faxed it, please let me know that as well.

Thanks Maureen!

It was faxed; the fax confirmation we received is below. Is your e-mail address (maureen.flynn@state.ma.us) the best contact for future public records requests? We had previously been told to fax requests, but would like to use whatever method you prefer and will reduce lost communications.

Michael,

Email is preferable. You can submit your request to anyone, as you know - but it would be great if you would submit them to our Communications Coordinator, Matt Kitsos, cc'd here. He and I then coordinate on follow up.

Thanks,

Maureen Flynn

I wanted to recontact you regarding the Public Records Request about MBDC originally made on January 20, 2011.

In it, we requested the last three evaluations of MBDC.

In the documents we received, there are several pieces of correspondence from MBDC, a 2008 contract, a draft contract from the 90s, a contract extension, several exhibits, and a number of legislative documents.

I don't see anything that meets the standard of an evaluation. Have I missed something? Were these evaluations not done?

From: Michael Morisy

Hi Matt,

Sorry, I meant to CC you on this follow up as well.

Best,

Michael

Hi Michael:

Jason Lefferts, our Communications Director, is going to follow up with you regarding your question.

And, just a note, Melissa is no longer volunteering with us. I have added Keeana Saxon, our new Deputy General Counsel, to this email (for her information).

From: Michael Morisy

Thank you for the update Maureen! If a phone call with anyone would help, I'm at 607-592-4253, but am out of town all next week.

From: "Flynn, Maureen (SEA)" <maureen.flynn@state.ma.us>

OK - I am not sure if Jason is available today but I am cc'ing him here so he can see your schedule.
