Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
All public records related to the meeting between Polk State College administrators, the Polk County Sheriff, and an Assistant State Attorney for the Tenth Judicial Circuit that occurred in February 2017 to discuss the artwork known as "Death of Innocence" by artist and Polk State College faculty member Serhat Tanyolacar.
“Public records” as defined by Florida statute 119.011(12) means all documents, papers, letters, maps, books, tapes, photographs, films, sound recordings, data processing software, or other material, regardless of the physical form, characteristics, or means of transmission, made or received pursuant to law or ordinance or in connection with the transaction of official business by any agency.
“Public records” includes, but is not limited to, any typed or handwritten notes by any attendees, e-mail correspondence before or after between actual or prospective attendees, any listing of those in attendance at the meeting that may exist, and any legal research relied upon and/or discussed at the meeting.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

The crime rate in the Polk County Sheriff's Office primary law enforcement response area is at
an historic low, down 7.9% in 2019. Since 1997, the crime rate in Polk County has fallen by 79%.
In 2019, the Polk/PCSO crime rate was 48.5% less than the overall crime rate in the state of Florida.

Mr. Wilder has not provided any details on how or when the responsive records were provided. Please re-open this request until the responsive records are provided. The Polk/PCSO crime rate is 45.1% less than the Florida state crime rate. The crime rate, which is the number of crimes per 100 residents, is down 6.4% from 2020 (1.26) to 2021 (1.18). This is the lowest crime rate ever measured in PCSO's jurisdiction! Since 1997, the year we launched our proactive crime fighting model (PROCAP), the crime rate in Polk County has fallen 82%.
