A message was sent to you regarding record request #24-847:

You are hereby notified that your Request for public records has been determined to be unduly burdensome pursuant to Section 3(g) of FOIA. The extraordinary volume of documents estimated to be over 7,189 emails and an estimated unknown staff hours and multiple staff members to fill the request is too burdensome on City resources to produce the request as drafted. Please contact the Clerk's Office at 847-448-8189 to discuss narrowing the scope of the request. Please consider narrowing your request by sender/recipient, topic, or date.

If you agree to narrow your request, you must submit a revised written request. The City of Evanston will take no further action or send you any further correspondence unless and until your current request is narrowed in writing. If we do not receive your narrowed request within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date of this letter, your current request will be denied.

A message was sent to you regarding record request #24-847:

Good afternoon,

The new search terms come up with over 5300 responsive emails. I think it would be helpful to narrow either the date/ add search terms or narrow the City staff that you are seeking communication with Mr. Koenig for. It may be that Mr. Koenig is carbon copied on an email that went to many City staff members and therefore it is populating many times for just 1 email.

Thank you,

Alex Ruggie

From: Niles Coalition

Hello, we spoke to Raymond in the City Clerk's office.

Per their request during our phone conversation today, 4/29/24, I am emailing you the text of the revision we sent on 4/24/24 for FOIA request #24-847, when we amended the request to ask only for the metadata for the emails (Sender, Recipient(s), Date and time sent, Subject). That metadata is information that would not require extensive review for redactions, so providing it should not be burdensome.
