The incident I'm referring to was mentioned in this tweet by the Austin Police Department: https://twitter.com/Austin_Police/status/1782947809072697679. The incident was also reported on by Fox 7 Austin: https://www.fox7austin.com/news/suspicious-package-in-downtown-austin. The incident resulted in I-35 feeder roads being shut down by APD for over an hour.

It is unbelievable that APD has no report or documentation about this event. My goal is to learn what prompted the police response and how the incident was resolved. Please provide any incident report or other documentation would answer my question.

The Austin Police Department does not have a 9-1-1 call as this originated as a DPS incident. The information we have is that DPS was flagged down and we assisted, however you can verify whether they have a 9-1-1 by submitting a request with DPS.
We do not have an incident report as this is a DPS incident, if a report exists, it would be their records and you will have to submit a request with them as well.
The information you requested includes a police officer’s body worn camera recording. Access to body worn cameras recordings are governed by chapter 1701 of the Texas Occupations Code. Chapter 1701 provides the procedures a requestor must follow when seeking a body worn camera recording. Section 1701.661(a) provides:
A member of the public is required to provide the following information when submitting a written request to a law enforcement agency for information recorded by a body worn camera:
• the date and approximate time of the recording;
• the specific location where the recording occurred; and
• the name of one or more persons know to be a subject of the recording.
Because you have not provided the information required by section 1701.661(a) of the Occupations Code, we are prohibited from releasing the body worn camera recording(s) to you.
However, section 1701.661(b) permits you to submit a future request for the body worn camera recording(s) you are seeking if/when you are able to provide the required information.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 512-974-5499 or by replying to this email.
